Abstract:

Early language learning is a dynamic process that involves many child- and environment-related sources of variation to work together. In this talk, I will present research from our lab focusing on the multifactor and multimodal process of early language learning. I will mainly discuss children’s early vocabulary development. In particular, I will address the interactive process of infants’ skills and parental input on children’s early vocabulary development. I will also present recent evidence from our longitudinal studies with full-term and preterm born children to discuss how these interactive processes occur for children following up differential trajectories.
