Abstract: This article aims to describe the components of the sentence interpretation processes and mechanisms, and review the modern theories about how these different components interact with each other during the course of parsing. Summarizing the main findings on which the most contemporary theories agree along with their conflicting aspects, the present review aims to provide in Turkish an upto-date review of the state of our knowledge about human language processing capacity. The first section describes the nature of human parsing mechanism and the second section presents the main issues about this mechanism and what kind of solutions the mainstream theories offer for these issues.
